Rothesay Remembers
Our red poppy is a symbol of both Remembrance and hope for a peaceful future.
Poppies are worn as a show of support for the Armed Forces community.
The poppy is a well-known and well-established symbol, one that carries a wealth of history and meaning with it. Wearing a poppy is still a very personal choice, reflecting individual experiences and personal memories. It is never compulsory but is greatly appreciated by those who it is intended to support. The purple poppy is a recognition of all the animals that also gave and still do give so much. Purple poppy badges can be purchased alongside the red poppy badges sold in our Dean Hood Place shop.
Legion Bute members and supporters raise thousands of pounds every year. These funds are used to provide support to veterans and their families in need.
The most significant contribution from our members and supporters is raising funds for the Scottish Poppy Appeal, and annually we raise in the region of £900,000 throughout Scotland which is used by Poppyscotland to deliver services that do make a real difference to people’s lives.
While these services are not delivered in the name of Legion Scotland, we value the partnership we have with Poppyscotland. The difference our contribution makes is clear, and we applaud every one of our members and supporters for their continued support.
